About Me

Question 1: Who am I? I am the guy that registered the domain name, making me Kris Rogerson. I love all aspects of creativity, but writing is my first love and being a single man at this point and time, it is currently my only love. Question 2: What do I want? I want to create killer advertising copy to compel the client, entice the buyer and sell the product. I will use my abilities to get the Copywriting opportunities that I deserve and I will rock it — believe that. I also want to use my creative writing abilities to tell stories that suck my readers into the vortex that is my clever (possibly twisted) mind. I am sure I have more wants, but I will stop here… for now.

I have always been the creative type… drawing, painting, sculpting and all that good stuff, ever since I was a little kid. It only seemed natural to go to school for something creative, so I did. I went to school for graphic design. We also drew naked people in art class and learned the basics of copywriting… and lots of other fun stuff.

Where did that take me? I ended up working in many industries, mostly within private companies. I’ve never worked full time for any sort of design house… I still might, you never know, but the point is my experience grew a great deal, regardless. I’ve created materials to hock products ranging from multi-million dollar diamonds to live saving search & rescue equipment. I like to be creative, I like to conceptualize and watch things evolve from start to finish.

Somehow, along the way I also began to dabble in writing, this basically started because no one at a previous hospitality job wanted to tackle the job of writing sales sheet and brochure copy. So I did. Apparently, at least according to teachers in school, I had a knack for it… so, I took that motivation and ran with it. I kept moving forward, picking up writing gigs, learning all about seo (and becoming a master of organic seo I might ad) all while honing my new craft to a professional level. I have also worked as a blogger and maintain my own blog, which is generally pretty humorous — says my mom.

So, what else… oh I am also a photographer, I know, I know… cliche, BUT, whatever, when you’re good at something, I was always told to charge forward and just do it. So I did and still do. I taught myself everything I know, confirmed that with a few classes and now hold a tremendous knowledge of slr photography — and thanks to my graphic design background, I am an accomplished photo editor as well! From my world travels to around town, my photos capture what I see…

I paint too, mostly abstract stuff — but not exclusively. I just paint what I feel like painting. Generally I use acrylic, simply due to the convenience of cleanup. I’m no Bob Ross, but sometimes I feel like I could be Rob Boss.

Let’s see, what have I left out… ah, social media madness. Yeah, that is something that has recently (within the last 2 years) come to be a big part of my job(s). Let’s face it, it is not going to go away… so, I have evolved with it. Yay, web marketing! Why not utilize Facebook for your business, have a custom html fanpage, spend a few bucks on PPC/CPM, up your likes and directly market to your specific targets and geographic location(s). Why not ‘tweet’ and learn about hash and @ tags, post relevant, interesting info to obtain followers? Why not set up profiles on Tumbler and Squidoo where you can post seo friendly articles for free? Social media is here to stay — put it to work, it just makes sense!

Oh right, I also know my way around some video editing software and can dub audio, edit things together or apart… you know, the basic stuff that most teenagers can do these days… but I learned it on the job. Go me!

Ok, now that is the business side of Kris. Let’s let our hair down (for the record, my head is bic’d clean to the skin) and get to know me, outside of the workplace. I dig the outdoors: hiking, kayaking, climbing and camping. I keep fit with yoga and the gym and I have a soft spot for natural hotsprings. I thrive on good food, good beer and good wine, while practicing my beliefs in eating locally and organic. I have a huge interest in organic food production, both in rural and urban settings, I have an education in organic gardening and utilize that as often as I can. The only pets I currently coexist with live in my worm compost bin, though I do want a kitty. Mrow.

Other than that I am pretty simple, I love BC and I want land to start my own organic oasis outside of the city, though I also love to travel to far off and exotic places… like Seattle. Haha, but seriously, I like Seattle.

There you have it. Click around and if you want me to do some quality work for ya, shoot me an email, or ring me up on the telephone.
